With less than 100 days until the world’s best freeskiers, freestyle skiers and snowboard athletes explode out of the starting gate to race in their first 2019 FIS World Champs competition, there is still time to join the organizing team as one of the 600+ volunteers for the 2019 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships, presented by Toyota.
While Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain hosted 2011 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, 2019 will be the first time a U.S-based World Championship will include all events across the Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski disciplines in one Championship. Solitude Mountain Resort is solidifying their position as world-class event host, joining Park City and Deer Valley who have a long history and tradition of hosting elite-level competitions. These valued resort partners contribute to the 15 Winter Olympic sport competition volunteer opportunities available throughout the 10 days of competition.
Volunteering for the 2019 FIS World Championships provides an opportunity for a front and center experience to the thrill and excitement of hosting this ten-day event. Volunteers are a key element of providing the athletes, their teams, spectators and members of the media with a world-class experience, and everyone involved can take pride in executing a successful event. Volunteers receive official event uniforms and meals during volunteer shifts, and are rewarded with lift ticket vouchers from the host venues – Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain and Solitude Mountain Resort.
The reward structure is such that after a volunteer completes four shifts that volunteer will receive two lift pass vouchers; six completed shifts rewards with four lift vouchers; eight completed shifts rewards with six vouchers, with no limit to the number of lift pass vouchers that can be earned. Volunteers are asked for a minimum commitment of four shifts completed from Jan. 12 – Feb. 11, 2019 primarily based at the host venues.
Volunteer opportunities include on-course crew, guest services, hospitality, media, and timing. Many other volunteer roles are available, and with demand already high, prospective applicants are encouraged to go to https://2019worldchamps.com/volunteer-application/ for more details and to register their interest to join the team and participate in this unique opportunity.
The 2019 FIS World Championships moguls and aerials events are scheduled to take place at Deer Valley Resort. Park City Mountain will host halfpipe, slopestyle and big air competitions and Solitude Mountain Resort will host snowboardcross and skicross.
